Everyone hears about the beauty of the National Parks, but what about the national recreation areas? Places like Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area provide entirely unique and memorable experiences to their visitors. This particular protected area was established by an act of Congress on October 15, 1966, following the construction of the Yellowtail Dam by the Bureau of Reclamation. The dam created a lake which winds through a canyon, affording visitors trout fishing and wildlife viewing of ducks, geese and other animals. The canyon also boasts breath-taking scenery, countless varieties of wildlife, and abundant recreational opportunities such as boating, fishing, ice fishing, camping, and hiking. To celebrate the paths less traveled in national recreation areas (these places receive far fewer visitors than National Parks), Anderson Design Group poster artists hand-rendered an original illustration in the fashion of vintage poster art and travel art. This retro design and wilderness art is available as a poster, print, canvas, mini canvas, metal sign, notecard, or postcard.
